The purpose of the Mindset 4 Kids program is to build resilience in children who are at risk of developing low self-esteem, depression and general coping issues. It aims at improving confidence and assertiveness levels as well as general well-being.
Program cost is $250 for the 10 weeks which includes a copy of the workbook. Bulk billing is available for children who are able to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP.
Due to the large demand for the program and the small group number requirement, TEN children will be accepted into the program. Each application will be evaluated and offers will be sent to the parent either via email or text message one week after the term’s deadline.
Mindset 4 Kids is NOT a behaviour modification program and therefore NOT suitable for children with disruptive behavioural issues. Children need to have the attention span to sustain 1.5 hours of discussion and activities as well as the social skills and willingness to interact with other participants and the facilitator. In the event of a child not being able to cope behaviourally, parents will be notified and the child’s may be withdrawn from the program.
Parents will not be able to sit in. However there may be opportunities where parents will be invited to participate in some sessions.
Some children may have deeper issues in relations to depression or self-esteem. Private Sessions may be suggested and/or discussed with parents. Alternatively, parents may approach the facilitator to discuss private counselling sessions.
Referrals from teachers, GPs and other professionals will be accepted and considered in the offers given.
We thank you for your interest and hope to work with your family in the future.
